Sometimes there are things more important than money...(Locked to Meredith Grey/open rp for Joanna)
Nic stared at the laptop as he finalized his letter of resignation to County. When Joanna Falconiri had first arrived in Chicago he hadn't even thought that it would lead to increasing the number of weeks he was offering to Medecins Sans Frontieres, let alone that he would be resigning a staff position to accept a full-time one with them in the Congo.
Truth was he was bored, had been for some time, while he had enjoyed his time mentoring Meredith, he wasn't geared to be a teacher, or the politics of a teaching hospital.
Joanna had briefed him on the increasing need but nothing could have prepared him for the reports that had come his way from the outgoing administrator. Surgeons were doing anywhere from 25-35 surgeries per day with only 3 minutes between them to clean the OR. Surgeons being called upon to repair internal damages caused by grown men raping girls as young as 7. Children as young as 5 suffering from machete wounds or gunshot victims, how could he not go?

I have been offered and accepted a full-time position with Medecins Sans Frontieres. This will serve as my formal two week notice of resignation from Cook County General Hospital.

Before his next shift he leaves the following note for Meredith Grey at the surgical nurse's station.
Meredith,
It has been my pleasure to have you working with me over the past few months. I wanted you to be the first to know that I have accepted a permanent position with Medecins Sans Frontieres. My duties will begin almost immediately and so I have tendered my two week notice to County and will be leaving for the Congo within days of my last shift. As a thank you for all of your hard work and a way of expressing my confidence in your abilities, I have extended the subscriptions on your surgical journals by an additional year. I have also included personal references in your records regarding your time with me. It's been my pleasure to work alongside of you.

"Joanna." Nic rose as he hit the send key on the resignation, and went in search of the other surgeon. "No turning back now. It's sent, and you've got me."
(OOC...edited as there seems to be some confusion, this Lucien Dubenko is meant to be the canon Lucien Dubenko and not any player muses (as there are two around.) He is being used in name only as a means to exit Nic from the old rp line he had been involved in. Nic will be responding to no rp responses except in regard to Meredith, as indicated by the post heading, and of course Joanna, the only active muses.)
